January - February - March
Hey guys, welcome back! We've got more stuff to show this month along with details on how we're approaching the first alpha test for our Kickstarter backers. Lets get started! If you missed the last blog you can find it here. Note: If you're not a backer and would like email updates about development blog posts you can subscribe to our mailing list on our main page. The first alpha
So, where are we on the first alpha? Good question. We can count what needs to be done on about one hand now. We made a reply about where we are about 10 days ago on our subreddit. Since then we're now nearly done with bugs as far as we can see testing as two. We still have a few more important things to work out, but the bulk is looking good. We're still waiting on a few more first person objects (not weapons) to be animated, as our animator is still catching up after a fire that happened in his building last week.
We've also began working directly with Steam to push updates and setup the game on the library. Very soon we'll be doing the pretests with friends and team members. If these go well we'll immediately start taking steps to get the first alpha up as soon as possible. If we discover one or more gamebreaking bugs they will need to be fixed, most likely delaying the test. Please remember the entire game has been rewritten since the Kickstarter and this is also our first time deploying anything on Steam. The most we can do is tell you exactly where we are, and we have no problems with letting you guys know if something suddenly catches us off guard. In fact this is our fear, which is why we're doing our best to not get anyone's hopes up with a solid date just yet. Tea and Rum
Plowing booty and plundering waves is hard work, you'll probably get thirsty out there. Fear not! You will be able to swig yer loadout with a health restoring beverage if you need a break. The pirates will get a bottle of Salty Seaman rum to push through their troubles, and the navy will have a nice cup of anti-oxidant rich steaming hot tea on a cute little plate if they're feeling under the weather.
But of course! If you see a thirsty teammate you can just hand over a saucer or bottle so they can join the party! Music
garrett pls. he made more. good sutff much listen
Characters
Rino has made more progress on some of the more complicated and higher tier outfits, Tyler has a couple of them textured to show too. The two textured fellows below are part of the Navy, while the high poly model below is a matching tier Pirate!
WeaponsAnnely Revolver
With 8 rounds and 1 barrel the Annely Revolver is a devastating weapon. You'll be required to pull the hammer/frizzen after each shot, and reload times will be much longer than a traditional Flintlock pistol. If you're the type of player who likes to salt and pepper their targets this one is for you!
Matchlock Revolver
This Tri-Barrel Matchlock revolver is a great alternative to the Annely by providing slightly longer range and a speedier reloads.
We now have animations for a classic and loved feature:
What's next?
We hope the next post here on the blog is the announcement for alpha sometime this month. We're very excited and we're working nearly all day every day to get there faster!
Thanks for reading! -Tyler & Dakota Comments are closed.
